Saucy Record Breakers

Ever wondered how quickly you could drink an entire bottle of ketchup?

Or maybe you've thought about how many jars of mayonnaise could you consume in three minutes?

Alternatively, you may have thought about hosting the worlds longest ever barbecue or creating the largest Pizza in the world.

Don't worry you're not alone, we've often thought about these things too, so we thought let's have some fun and find ourselves some saucy record breakers.

Fastest time to drink a bottle of Ketchup

Now, we know that we all love Ketchup, but here at Harrisons we advise you take your time with it and savour it. However, that wasn't the case for André Ortolf (Germany). He decided he loves his Ketchup so much, he wanted to drink the entire bottle in one sitting to set a new World record!

in 2017, André set the fastest time to drink a bottle of ketchup, doing so in just 17.53 seconds on 30 November 2017.

The Longest Barbecue Marathon

We absolutely love barbecues at Harrisons HQ. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, eating deliciously smokey food outside with friends and family, just can't be beaten. Well, have you ever considered barbecuing nonstop for 80 hours? Because that's exactly what you'd need to do, if you were to become the worlds biggest barbecuer!

The longest barbecue marathon is officially 80 hours and was achieved by Jan Greeff in the USA at an event benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in April 2014.

Jan Greeff cooked 1000, hotdogs, 200 pieces of corn, 104 pieces of chicken, 558 burgers and 526 boereworse over the course of three days. Donations made by spectators raised more than $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Most Mayonnaise eaten in three minutes

Everyone knows how much we love mayo, but Michelle Lesco might just take the award for loving it the most!

In December 2018, Michelle took on the challenge to eat as much mayonnaise as possible in 3 minutes and managed to break a the World Record, with an incredible 3.5 jars!

The Worlds Largest Pizza

When ordering pizza, we often go for large... Guilty! But when we order a large pizza, we don't expect something like this.

In December 2012, NIPfood at Fiera Roma in Italy, created a pizza with a total surface area of 1,261.65 m² (13,580.28 ft²)!

The pizza was named "Ottavia", a word of Roman origin for "eighth son", as a homage to the first Roman emperor Octavian Augustus, who represented an epoch-making change in the history of Rome and brought the Empire into a period of economic and cultural stability. Ottavia was 100% gluten-free.
